The Lightspeed Retail integration for WooCommerce lets you run one product catalog in Lightspeed and sell it everywhere. Import products into WooCommerce, keep inventory accurate online and in-store, and stop babysitting your product inventory.

Supports both Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) and Lightspeed Retail (X-Series). Choose your Lightspeed platform during setup and sync your catalog, stock levels, and product updates automatically.

Easily sync your Lightspeed catalog to WooCommerce

  • One source of truth for products: manage SKUs, pricing, and descriptions in Lightspeed; push updates to WooCommerce. Works with both R-Series and X-Series.
  • Two-way stock sync: online orders decrement Lightspeed; POS sales update WooCommerce. Inventory stays aligned.
  • Fast catalog import: pull your existing Lightspeed items into Woo in a few clicks.
  • Field mapping control: choose which fields to import and update (SKU, Price, Short/Long Description, and more).
  • Create from Woo: optionally quick-create a new product in Lightspeed from your Woo storefront workflow.

How it works

  1. Connect: Install the plugin, then go to WooCommerce โ†’ Lightspeed to authorize your Lightspeed Retail account (R-Series or X-Series).
  2. Import: Use the built-in importer to bring products from Lightspeed into WooCommerce. You can bulk import your full catalog or search for individual products. Matrix (variable) items in Lightspeed are converted into variable products in Woo.
  3. Configure: Choose your preferred SKU strategy (system, custom, or manufacturer), decide which fields should sync automatically (price, stock, descriptions, attributes, images, tags), and set the default status for new imports (draft or published).
  4. Sync: Stock quantities update both ways: online orders in WooCommerce decrement Lightspeed, and POS sales at the register update WooCommerce. Product details like price or descriptions are pushed one way from Lightspeed to Woo.
  5. Manage: Keep product data accurate in Lightspeed and let WooCommerce handle your storefront, checkout, and marketing stack. If needed, you can also quick-create a Woo product in Lightspeed to establish the initial sync relationship.

This plugin establishes a one-way catalog sync with two-way inventory updates. Lightspeed manages products; WooCommerce reflects them and handles online sales.

What syncs

  • From Lightspeed โ†’ WooCommerce: Product name, SKU (system, custom, or manufacturer), regular and sale price levels, stock quantity, short/long descriptions, attributes (including matrix/variations), tags, and product images. Categories can be imported once during setup.
  • From WooCommerce โ†’ Lightspeed: Inventory changes from online orders, cancellations, and refunds. Optional one-time product creation from WooCommerce to Lightspeed is supported for initial setup.

Why you need a Lightspeed sync for WooCommerce

A proper Lightspeed to WooCommerce sync prevents overselling by keeping inventory accurate across both systems in real time. When a product sells in-store, WooCommerce updates automatically. When an online order comes in, Lightspeed reflects the new stock level immediately. You stop running into those โ€œwe just sold the last oneโ€ moments that frustrate customers and hurt trust.

Syncing also eliminates duplicate data entry. Instead of updating prices, descriptions, or images separately in WooCommerce, you manage everything once in Lightspeed and your online store stays perfectly aligned. Your product data remains consistent everywhere customers shop, with no mismatched details or outdated information lingering on product pages.

With Lightspeed handling retail operations and WooCommerce powering online sales, you get a real-time connection between the two sides of your business. It becomes easier to expand whether that means growing your catalog, or driving more sales, without creating more operational work. Your systems stay unified, and your team saves hours every week.

Known limitations

  • Works with one Lightspeed store at a time (no multi-store sync). If this is something you’re looking for, get in touch with our support team.
  • Backorders in WooCommerce are not supported yet.
  • Lightspeed is the required โ€œsource of truthโ€ for product data in both R-Series and X-Series.

FAQs

Does this support multiple Lightspeed locations?

The integration syncs with one Lightspeed store. If you have multiple locations in Lightspeed, choose the store you want to sync with WooCommerce.

Can I manage products in WooCommerce?

You can, but the recommended workflow is to manage products in Lightspeed and let the plugin update WooCommerce. This keeps data consistent.

What happens when stock changes in-store?

POS sales reduce inventory in Lightspeed; the plugin updates WooCommerce to match. The same happens in reverse when you get an online order.

Does this support Lightspeed R-Series and X-Series?

Yes. The plugin fully supports both Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) and Lightspeed Retail (X-Series). Choose your platform during setup and the plugin will connect to the appropriate API.

Run retail and ecommerce from one catalog. Keep stock accurate, everywhere.
